@petej *furious* We were all asking for a paid service 4 years ago to avoid this BS. I don't want advertising forced on me.

Good to see the trickle of people away from Twitter to identi.ca continuing

RT @staplegun How cool is that? Discovered you can add identi.ca to TweetDeck (um, until it's new owners block it???) http://bit.ly/lZsBmU

@petej Probably go crawling back to Twitter in 6 months (I have very little stick-to-it-ive-ness)
-
@petegilbert Heheh. I have sooo many half-finished "Sunday afternoon projects"...
-
-
Oooh. I sense a little flurry of activity from Bristol folk on identi.ca. This is pleasing
-
@petegilbert I guess my motivation was more from the tech policy end (their announcements re 3rd party clients, buying out Tweetdeck etc)
-
@petej identi.ca is just a stepping stone, I will hopefully soon set up a distributed status.net server. Not trying to break any laws though
-
@petegilbert Right. I have a status.net server running (on Dreamhost), and that's probably where I want to take things too
-
-
OK, I disconnected this account from Twitter as it was getting too confusing with mismatching user names and so on
-
@petej And with the Tweetdeck buyout and impending API shutdown they are consolidating their grip - admittedly on their own product
-
@petegilbert On legal side, tho, see http://identi.ca/doc/tos and http://identi.ca/doc/privacy

And the "please RT this to show my friend how far posts go on Twitter" posts are pure spam.

Buying out the client competition & introducing unwanted spammy auto-opted-in email notifications in one day? Way to piss ppl off, Twitter
-
Back to identi.ca for a bit

I'm quite proud to say I've never "Like"-d anything. I'm pretty certain I won't be "+1"-ing anything either
