Poll: When should StatusNet servers ping a central system to make a global firehose of public activities?
-
I imagine the difference between opted in and opted out is a radio button on the install screen, similar to the option …
-
-
-
The only real issue I see with that is support for URI templates. JSON-LD would work for user-meta, but not really the host-meta.
-
There's a JSON version of the XRD thing. http://hueniverse.com/2010/05/jrd-the-other-resource-descriptor/
-
Neat. But… does anyone use it? Checked a few sites, didn't see JSON representations available (e.g. added ?format=json to end of hosts-meta)

Sometimes I wish I could get the #Unity dash on both displays. Anyone in !Ubuntu know how to do that?
-
With the new threading, it's impossible to use !Gwibber for identica -- dents appear with no context, totally irrelevant

@bkuhn This is the first time I've seen this: selling exceptions to the !AGPL: http://ur1.ca/7eboi

While I agree that most !freesoftware stuff is bourgeois and pro !capitalist, space exists for anticapitalist truly radical free software

@mlinksva I commend the DKLevine paper, but it is an economic, not an ethical treatise. Hence why it doesn't touch on natural rights.
-
@mlinksva DKLevine's economic treatise doesn't give understanding of what is http://identi.ca/url/62679974 with #copyright

meant as: if inalienable rights don't exist then they can't be abused.

Just found out that #Rob_Dougan stuff has lyrics if you !listen to the album version.

@anarcat um, which picture?

so, would @rms be equally flamed if he wrote “I'm not happy he's dead, but I'm happy he's gone” today WRT Gaddafi?

@lxoliva: not wrote, quoted :-)
-
Equally? No. And for that to even be expected you'd have to make the case that Jobs and Gaddafi were equal in their notable deeds.Tough sell
-
I agree with @RMS: I'm not glad #Steve_Jobs is dead, but I'm glad he's gone. !fsf !gnu !linux !ubuntu !freesoftware trim and rd if you agree

A rather interesting discussion going on about RMS's recent verbal antics over at G+: http://bit.ly/qPbbfA !GNU !Linux !FSF

@rajitsingh I agree with all the comments rms has made. In India we say, whoever is dead, is good. But, their karma, is in their name.

@srini that's a good saying. I agree with RMS too.

@webmink no, thank *you*! it didn't help that some self-proclaimed open sourcers (e.g. mr torvalds) are not quite for sw freedom
-
@webmink he and other important OSS voices helped distort the picture and made room for nonFS to pose as OSS

The new !Ubuntu monospace font is really annoying-looking, though. It's like Ubuntuified comic sans.

Upgraded to !Ubuntu #oneiric last night. Some crashes in #nautilus and !evolution, but good otherwise.

bitlbee is pretty awesome, never used it myself, though.

so bitlbee has a statusnet api plugin?
-
I think it has, see http://ur1.ca/5ecvw (and I wrote a few tricks to use that, in spanish, but I can translate it)
