@fontana I missed that, will add note tomorrow.

@fontana, I don't really believe that #troll'ing me can ever be in the public good. I think you're right we need !AGPL v4, though.

!SCALE Cloud panel: weird for me to stand in back of room & hear most of the panel misunderstand I invented. !AGPL FUD is strong it seems.
about 22 days ago from mustard-
@bkuhn disagree, those drive large-scale engineering efforts, but that isn't necessary for 'inovation".
-
*gush* I don't know what I did to deserve that, but I'll allow it :)
-
-
@bkuhn This is the first time I've seen this: selling exceptions to the !AGPL: http://ur1.ca/7eboi

RT @goteofunding: The first Goteo #crowdfunding campaigns end tomorrow night. An extra 24h to crowdfund commons! http://is.gd/ydcedG !agpl

@fontana, I'm thoroughly convinced there will never be a Richard Fontana blog. Do you want to take a prop bet with me about it?
about 3 months ago from web-
... but the haha thing is that 0x1D @bkuhn claimed free software got complacent about big company competition because MSFT bad at software.
-
Best part of 0x1D @bkuhn discusses a non-copyright pro-software-freedom regulatory mechanism: Debian keeping nonfree stuff out of main.
-
the #kazzack interview was great too in 0x1D, but I have no comments on it!
-
-
@fontana I prefer to think hasn't wildly succeeded yet, agree with https://identi.ca/notice/84334651
-
I find it an unfortunate problem that to reach masses you need to be in the mass places. And then if you are there you contribute to those..
-
/me too mostly, but I am now considering leaving #gitorious ... missing issue tracker sucks (most likely for fedorahosted.org though)
-
Facebook will IMHO fail (following AOL's path). I told you so http://is.gd/Fpepa4 Yes, I am crazy.

#OccupyWallStreet videos can be subtitled to ur lang using #UniversalSubtitles #ows http://is.gd/vqbVlW !agpl !fs !fk

!LibreOffice should really go !AGPLv3+. http://mobile.slashdot.org/story/11/10/15/010253/libreoffice-going-online-and-mobile

http://blog.opalang.org/2011/08/opa-license-contributions.html interesting thing not !AGPL but /_internal_/src_code builtin URL !autonomous
about 6 months ago from web- Alex Muntada repeated this.

Are there any #crowdfunding sites that are !FaiF? !autonomous !fsf !gnu !agpl
-
!android video live wallpaper, sample code http://tinyurl.com/3djjudc
-
@tedks maybe, see https://identi.ca/conversation/76935021
-
@tedks There's FOSS Factory ( http://www.fossfactory.org/ ) licensed under the !GNU !AGPL ( http://www.fossfactory.org/get-source.php ).

-
http://www.sitelier.com looks interesting !fsw !autonomous !agpl but lack list/bugs/repo

"The big web companies think they can own you. Guess what? They're wrong. Follow @sitelier on Twitter" #irony

@fontana, in a side conversation w/ screen showing, has convinced me that #MongoDB is likely using the !AGPL for #proprietary_relicensing.
about 7 months ago from web -
@copiesofcopies, StatusNet has taken VC, too. But they also took !FSF copyrighted !AGPLv3'd code inbound=outbound into the codebase.

- Clacke Moved to Parlementum repeated this.
-
@fontana, that is definitely the intent of !AGPL. I believe it is properly implemented as such too, but maybe you disagree. :)
about 7 months ago from web-
@arc Looks awesome. Will definitely keep that in mind.
-
@clacke http://ur1.ca/4qr8w is microblogging over !xmpp, the in-development extension being worked on to obsolete OStatus

-
@mlinksva: that was my guess too. I suppose I was looking more to confirm there was no proprietary relicensing.
-
q: What would !AGPL for content be? a: src-requiring copyleft ie [A]GPL? http://forum.creativecommons.org/topic/587#post-1601
about 8 months ago from web-
@mlinksva I don't, but at least CC doesn't take a strong stand in their main area. Whereas I like FSF strong stand in their main area but...
-
@mlinksva no, there should likely be one, but it needs a better definition and explanation than the GPL has.
-
@mlinksva that may indeed be a bridge to be crossed.
-
-
@mozilla @ilovetheopenweb Why isn't !AGPL on list of licenses that should be used by #WebFWD projects? Isn't that the best for online apps?
- Christopher Allan Webber likes this.
-
@fontana, yeah, but if we did !AGPL'd #Disqus replacement, which we should, we'd base it on #StatusNet, or at least OStatus protocol, right?
about 8 months ago from web-
@bkuhn I agree that "…and the rest" mention would be better than status quo for !debian website, hence #632175 http://ur1.ca/4kxwf
-
@fontana at most one wants a good way to embed StatusNet threads/comment form on-page http://sngpl.ma/t4Cm1
-
-
@fontana @bkuhn Indeed, I have no problems with license updates in general. The fuzziness lies in the definition of "similar in spirit".
about 8 months ago from web-
@webmink,my "most" is surely just as quantified as @allisonrandal's is. I rarely talk to a developer who doesn't know roughly:GPL, LGPL, BSD
-
@dbs, I probably talk to more diversity of developers than most, since my role at #Conservancy has me interacting w/ a wide range of projects
