  1. Cyber Killer Cyber Killer LaTeX – A document preparation system

    #txt2tags is a brilliant & easy alternative to !latex for short texts & small notes, similar to #rst2pdf

    • R. R. txt2tags - ONE source, MULTI targets

      @cyberkiller And !txt2tags will export to !latex and many other formats too :-)

      @rw theoretically yes, but I found it working only for #html and without css, #latex didn't compile, but I like it anyway for my small notes

    I love AsciiDoc. So easy to crank out reasonable training materials for tomorrow's full-day session.

    Trying out !asciidoc. So far it's very nice. Not as powerful or pretty as !latex but way way simpler for normal documents and books !ng

      @and3k You might also be interested in exploring !txt2tags . Interestingly, an !asciidoc 'target' has just recently been added to txt2tags.

    DocBook - I still love you, and love semantic markup in theory. But I also like getting things done fast. Thus my dalliance with AsciiDoc.

      @dbs I've used !txt2tags for awhile. Converts to !sgml but !docbook and #asciidoc targets only added recently http://ur1.ca/q17m

    @widget or you could use a wiki ( for example !dokuwiki) so all people can work on it. i'd hate to work with word :)

      @widget have you tried the route !latex -> html -> microsoft word? worked remarkably well for stuff i had to send to my supervisor.

      @habi Good idea, I typically do something similar with !txt2tags -> #XHTML -> M$ Weird/doc for the manager types ;-)

    being stuck to write a paper in doc, I crave for a !vim - !google docs plugin. Meanwhile, the old copy-n-paste will suffice.

      @invernizzi I've been using !vim + !txt2tags > #XHTML for awhile with decent results. Most wordprocessors understand HTML. YMMV :-)
