@jamal Depends where your priorities are, I guess. I don't sit and watch progress bars when ripping CDs, and quality is important to me.

@jamal I believe Rhythmbox defaults to a really "careful" cdparanoia setting, to compensate for disc scratches. Can't speak for Banshee.

@jamal Not noticed - was fast to me. Perhaps Rhythmbox has high paranoia enabled?

@jamal i've always used grip for that. you might look at the encoding settings, that's usually where the bottleneck is. or too many scratchs
