@evan UCS-2 is mandatory for sms (for japanese chars), not for us, (microblogging) naturally. however limit is 140 octets for sms messages

@evan sms max is 140 octets. japanese chars must be encoded in 16-bit UCS-2 this gives us 70 japanese char maxlength for sms

@evan replies tab is just some way to present them but it isnt a real solution. you need a threaded conversation to really follow replies
