seems a bit odd to have a new library for a deferred extension. Are people actively using Joap? Is it worth implementing?
-
JOAP is a great protocol even if its status is deferred ;-) What about updating the spec? Or do you know a good alternative?
-
Deferred just means that the XEP was in the Experimental stage and didn't get updated within one year. (see XEP 1)
-
is there still a working XMPP bot for !identica ? I miss being able to dent from XMPP.
- Klearchos Angelos Gkountras repeated this.

I just tried. Starting the daemon fails because queung must be enabled. Don't know how to do that. No plugin or config option.

yes, but running 'my xmpp server' is undesirable

Writing a script that simply listens to messages from your JID and posts to your account should be simple enough in ${languge}

@jankusanagi already mentioned this way but in other words, where '%(language)s', python

I could imagine that maintaining the state necessary for running an XML stream makes it impossible for XMPP to scale as well as e.g. IRC.
-
@clacke @eightyeight What about the software used by jabber dot org? Surely that can handle lots of users.
-
@lnxwalt Heh. No. That device is highly unreliable. It clearly demonstrates that XMPP cannot scale.
-
-
Anyone using Voice/Video ( #vv ) within !Pidgin over !XMPP ? It works for me but ultra jerky, high cpu usage and a few hundred kB/s usage :(
-
Made a call to USA and had some buffer issues. #empathy has better integration (it rings!) and I wish there was some echo cancellation.
-
moreover, seems like all FAIF clients lack EC feature
