Home at last. After 34 hours of travel over 5 days, covering 2150km on 7 trains, three buses, two ships and a hydrofoil. It was great fun.

Lovely boat ride around Hamburg harbour in the sunshine yesterday. Today, cycling around Amsterdam on borrowed bike. Dutch bikes are weird.

Surface it is: train to Copenhagen tomorrow morning, then to Hamburg for the night. Time to look round in both, then to Amsterdam on Sunday.

Flew 230km today, in a wooden glider twice my age. Pocklington to Grantham out and return.

Nothing says "safety first" like using power tools in a flooded workshop. Also, arrived home to find my hall has become an archery range.

Alternative transport day: on platform with bike, 5 hot air balloons float by overhead as a steam train storms deafeningly into the station.
