@ossguy - Thanks, I noticed that this morning after I tried to access the machine from work. I'll get on it when I get home.

It's good to have a caring leader, but it seems that the project doesn't take a firm stand against unfree parts. Unlike say... freedombox.

Works for me now, too, but didn't have to restart networking. Curious.

http://ossguy.com/ is back. It's unclear what the problem was; restarting networking fixed it, but no funny iptables/routing existed. #iWeb

I'm unable to hit ossguy.com from my Canadian university location. Is the IP 64.15.152.44?

I understand, but it also means the carrier can never again update it without replacing the hardware. I don't think they'll go for that.

@ossguy Customers would need to get new handsets instead of remotely updating wth new list of acceptable MNCs.

@ossguy So it's in the manufacturer's interest to do enable it via software instead, and allow the carrier to program as appropriate.

@ossguy @douglasawh Maybe, but I doubt cell phone manufacturers want to do limited production runs of a model for just one carrier.

Correction: SSH/HTTP/HTTPS not blocked (by port number), but XMPP/ICMP blocked on #YTZ #wifi. Ferry was running fine. #Porter

The new terminal for US #Porter flights at #YTZ has free #wifi, but again SSH/XMPP/ICMP blocked. Does 8-16 Mbps down and 2-2.8 up though.

It turns out the #WikiReader comes with 2 AAAs so no extra battery purchase required. Quite liking it; wish I had bought more. :)

@ossguy Will try KVM. But, is there a guide to convert the VirtualBox's VMs to KVM format?

All the more reason that we need a cell phone without any proprietary software in it. Anywhere.

I also sometimes post a notice that refers to a URL on my site but I think this and other uses of my site will require manual checks anyway.
