They have to stay relevant as the need for a centralized service to convert email adrresses to avatars deminishes. Looks good though.

I was using http for my OpenID URL on identica. Logged in w/ password, added https, logged out, logged in w/ https successfully.

Whatever the issue was, using https in the OpenID URL works fine, so problem solved.
