Funny #xkb thing: key <RALT> { type= "TWO_LEVEL", symbols[Group1]= [ ISO_Level3_Shift, Multi_key ] }; (a modifier modifies another one).

@vinc17, I'll poke around. I want to ask re: #xkb config I couldn't get working. I suspect it's a bug, but don't know enough to be sure.

@sazius, Trust me, I tried *all* of them and looked at #xkb dumps all night last night, and well into the morning hours. Glad to be done.

@fooishbar, thanks. It's not your fault. Do you think the #xkb problem I describe in my blog might be a bug as well? & likely fixed?

@sazius, as described in blog, Caps/CTRL fix is easy (& lots of hints online on how to get #xkb to DTRT). It's my other mods that were hard.

@vinc17, have you read my blog on this? Why is #xmodmap "broken"? Isn't the fact the #xkb I tried that wouldn't work show it's broken too?

@bkuhn #xmodmap is broken and IMHO should no longer be used. #xkb seems more flexible once one knows how to use it.
